Educational Programs
Holocaust and Human Rights Education
The HHRC offers sixteen fully developed educational programs to schools in Maine—free of charge. The programs can be at a school, or during a visit to the Michael Klahr Center. Each session includes a slideshow and presentation from an experienced educator, followed by class discussion and often interactive activities. Current programs, which range from 60-90 minutes, fall into three categories: Anti-Bias Exploration, Human Rights and The Holocaust/Shoah. Individual sessions, depending on the program, range between sixty and ninety minutes and can be combined for half- or full-day programs. All sessions can be facilitated virtually.
Our educational programs are offered free of charge to schools. Donations to support these programs so that we can continue to offer them for free are always appreciated. To learn more, please contact us so we can discuss your school and students, what programs would be best suited, grade levels and subject, scheduling, and other ways we can collaborate to bring your students the very best educational experience.
