Antisemitism: Past and Present

Grades: 6-12th grades

This program examines the two-thousand-year-old history of anti-Jewish hatred and is an integral part of our Holocaust education programming. An understanding of the centuries long hatred of the Jews is important background knowledge for students and teachers seeking to better understand the rise of Hitler and Nazism and the ultimate extermination of the Jews of Europe. This program also includes an optional discussion of post-Holocaust antisemitism and how it has affected and continues to affect Jews in Maine and elsewhere in the present day.
