Jewish Life Before the Holocaust

Duration: 45-60 Minutes

Grades: 6-12th grades

Students cannot truly understand the magnitude of what was lost—of who was lost—in the Holocaust if they don’t know what that loss was. If students know little or nothing about the Jews of Europe, the fact that six million of them were murdered remains even more abstract and hard to grasp. Who were the Jews who suffered and died? This program introduces students to the Jewish communities of Europe and helps them to appreciate and value all that was destroyed during the Holocaust.
