Summer 2009

At Konzentrationslager Dachau, the first concentration camp erected in Nazi Germany near the medieval town of Dachau, a simple stone monument bears a two-word inscription in five languages: “Never Again.” On an adjacent wall the epitaph reads: “May the example of those who were exterminated here…unite the living." Winter 2008

In your hands is a place to stand, our first newsletter since opening the doors of our new home at the Michael Klahr Center on the UMA campus in Augusta. From breaking ground on the site of our building in 2005 to breaking new ground in programs and partnerships in 2009, a place to stand is what we’ve been working to build, with an eye toward making the Holocaust & Human Rights Center of Maine an essential destination for students and community throughout the state and beyond.
