The HHRC is proud to offer a variety of hour-long workshops, as well as multiple presentations of the same workshop in the same day, at no charge to schools. We know the budgetary challenges schools are facing and are far more interested in reaching schools than straining them financially.
However, there are costs to the HHRC. To prepare and present a workshop costs a minimum of $500. This cost covers not only the staff time required to prepare and present the workshop itself, but also the time to prepare and distribute pre-workshop and post-workshop materials and activities. The HHRC is interested in students having a full experience with both the material and the HHRC; all workshops have been designed to have students thinking about the material before, during and after the workshop. This $500 cost also covers mileage.
For the 2013-2014 school year we are planning to visit 20 schools. The total cost to reach those 20 schools will be approximately $10,000. We are seeking Educational Sponsors to help the HHRC meet that financial goal and enable the organization to continue providing Holocaust and human rights educational programming to schools throughout the state of Maine.
