Jordan Bannister has joined the staff of the HHRC as the Office Manager. A new Mainer, Jordan comes to the Klahr Center from a year with Americorps working in the Moundville (AL) Archaeological Park, the site of a settlement dating to 1000 AD. At Moundville, Jordan worked as a VISTA program participant providing volunteer management and training, grant writing, outdoor education and field demonstrations, and designing and developing educational programs. Originally from Georgia, Jordan is a 2013 graduate from the University of Alabama with a dual degree in journalism and anthropology.
“We’re so fortunate to have Jordan join our staff,” said HHRC Executive Director Elizabeth Helitzer, “She will be a great addition to our work and our facility. We’re especially excited to include her experience as we continue to work with teachers and schools to grow our outreach and educational offerings.”
The move to Maine is an exciting adventure for Jordan. “This is such a beautiful place, and I already feel at home here,” she said, “I’ve been planning this move for nearly a year and the fact that I’ve found a great job that allows me to continue the work I’ve been doing is very exciting,” she said.
Stop by and say hello to Jordan. The HHRC is open Monday through Friday from 10 to 4 pm.
