The Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine and Temple Beth-el of Augusta, Maine invite the HHRC community and friends, Temple Beth-El members and Temple Book Club members to a one hour Webinar Book Talk with the author.

Title: The Pendulum: A granddaughter’s Search for her family’s forbidden Nazi past.

Author: Julie Lindahl, A Brazilian born American, now living in Sweden who spent six years researching to uncover her grandparents roles as members of Hitler’s elite, the SS.
Date: Wednesday, March 25th at 5:30 to 6:30 PM.

In order to uncover this hidden past, Julie spent six years traveling through Germany, Poland, Paraguay and Brazil learning that her grandfather had been a fanatic member of the SS since 1934. During WWII he was responsible for enslavement and torture in occupied Poland. After the war he fled to South America to evade war crime trials. This book also exposes life in Nazi Germany and Poland during the war.
