There are several events scheduled in response to the incidents in Charlottesville, VA over the weekend.

Vigil Against Hate – In Solidarity with Charlottesville
Capitol Park, Augusta, ME 04330

When: Monday, August 14, 5:30 PM
Stand with us against the rising tide of racism, nationalism and white supremacy highlighted this past weekend in Charlottesville. Show support for our brothers and sisters around the country who are resisting hate and coming together in love and compassion. We will gather across from Capitol Park on State Street in Augusta, on the sidewalk directly in front of the State House, for a peaceful vigil and to express that hate has no home in our community.

TODAY! Newcastle Vigil in Solidarity with Charlottesville After the terrible events of this weekend, People United Against Racism is hosting a vigil to stand in solidarity with Charlottesville, VA. Please come if you possibly can – say NO to racism and fascism, and stand up for the worth and dignity of all people. When: Monday, August 14, 4pm Where: Newcastle Park, next to the Second Congregational Church Bring signs if you have them. There is parking behind the church.

Please join us as we demonstrate solidarity with the anti-racist activists in Charlottesville and nationwide in opposition to white supremacy. Bring signs that supporting the cause of racial justice and condemning hate of all kinds. This is a one-hour event — please make time for it if you can.
